THANK YOU FOR CELEBRATING WITH US AT OUR FIRST ANNUAL
COMMUNITY CENTER HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE THAT WE HELD ON NOVEMBER 11, 2016!!
We had a wonderful time at our First Annual Community Center Open House, here at our Community Center on 232 N. Main Street, in Meridian, Idaho. It was our way of saying “thank you” to those of you who have blessed us with your gifts throughout the year. We had the store decorated and prepared gift baskets to give away throughout the day! Also, we debuted our 2016 Ugly Sweaters.
It all started when Christian Living Magazine offered us a place in their church bazaar listing for their November/December issue. That spurred ideas for an Open House, which led to cookies and cider, of course! Then our sweet Kimmy had the store windows painted for the holidays. Then our talented Heidi thought of gift basket give-aways and made the most beautiful baskets and started the crazy, ugly sweater inventory. Our volunteers took their lead from her and completed the set of over 30! Then she said “we should do a drive of some sort”, and we thought of what our guys need most and came up with the backpack drive! Finally, all of our church family came together and baked cookies for our special event! The crowning glory was when all of you came in to see us! We saw old and new faces, many of you came and stayed for hours, visiting and catching up. We wish we could do it every Friday! Thank you for making this special day such a success!!!
Turns out, we need to say thank you some more, as so many of you brought in backpacks for the BACKPACK DRIVE! Now we can bless our new arrivals to our homes with these awesome backpacks and all the extras so many of you put inside, like warm socks and hygiene items! These are things our Community Center can’t always provide for them.
Thanks again to all of you in our community (and beyond) for all of your generous donations and kindness throughout this past year and during our Open House. And thank you in advance for all that we will accomplish together through the Grace of God in the coming year.
